car junkie with commitment issues

main st. vancouver

why oh why is our beloved main st./ mount pleasant area becoming a “yaletown”? first we get this cheezy as hell place called “the coppertank” (fail), to make it worse it’s all glass and steel (uber fail!), and now there’s this new place called latitude w/ the sign in metallic letters (super epic fail!!). people move to this hood because its neat but for some reason they bring their old neighborhood with them and start to assimilate the new hood.

I wish people could just leave the downtown shi shi crap downtown. I should say that shi shi crap is fine…. not my style but it has it’s place…. but they really should just leave plain old main st as it is/was… plain crappy old main st.

It’s to get rid of the rift-raft. They are doing the same thing in Montreal. It’s an ironic decision. Damned if you do and damned if you don’t. Did you know that Vancouver has Canada’s richest and poorest societies. West Vancouver and the east side, complete paradox. I guess you’re caught in the middle? BTW I’ll need your phone no, between now and August to give you a ring for a coffee around the 16th 17th Aug. You have my e-mail.

  3. I just want diversity, not homogeny. Let’s not pretend Main Street is something that it’s not. So in other words Josh, here here!
