few pro’s about these cars:
-if you build one you will be the only one around with one modified.
– lotsa of great engine options bolt in, uses the 4a engine line so you can use the corolla gts 4age 115hp to 130 hp (low comp/high comp), the 4agze (z=supercharged) 145hp to 170hp (1st gen/2nd gen), or the 4age 20 valve versions at 160hp and 165hp (silvertop/blacktop).
-transmission options are plentiful as well, there are 2 5-speeds and a 6-speed manual available and depending one which you get it and which car it came from it can have an lsd.
not saying I’d build one ….but if I did there are options, and you can get the car for $1k

The car is a 1991 AE101 Corolla GT
The wheels are 17x9s at 15p with a 215/40/17,
It has ISC coilovers specially made for Manon Racing Products, a MRP bump steer and roll center correction kit, it’s fully rebushed with poly bushes, has a carbon cusco strut brace working with the factory triangulated brace, and cusco master cylinder stopper.
The factory Silvertop 20V has been replaced with a hybrid silver/blacktop which is running the bigger blacktop throttles and map sensored ECU allowing for open trumpets. This is mated to a later model c56 gearbox.
The guards have been widened about 2 inches all round to allow for the wheels, the front bumper is from an FXGT, with a spoon DC2 lip custom fitted.
The headlights are ae101 BZ touring wagon headlights, bought brand new from Toyota.
